Allan D. Clifton

Associate Professor of Psychological Science and Director of Independent Studies

Allan Clifton received his BA in psychology from Haverford College in 1995, and his MA and PhD from the University of Virginia in clinical psychology. He completed both his clinical internship and a postdoctoral research fellowship at Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

His research interests focus on ways to improve the assessment of personality, with an emphasis on maladaptive expressions of personality. He is currently working on a series of studies investigating the cross-situational consistency of personality, using social network analysis to map variations in interpersonal behavior.
