Seeking to gain a foothold in the world of cutting-edge art, The Museum of Modern Art announced a bold plan to merge with P.S.1, in Brooklyn, which has been struggling financially since a renovation two years ago. MoMA will give P.S.1 financial support and the current director of P.S. 1, Alanna Heiss, will remain in control of the institution and become a deputy director of MoMA.
