About me

Allow me to introduce Joseph Bushell Tanski, born on August 29, 2009. Joey!

I can often be found at crystallography conferences. In 2005, I attended the 20th Congress of the International Union of Crystallography in Florence, Italy. This is the pulpit in Santa Maria Novella from which Galileo was condenmed as a heretic. Turns out he was right, and now he's buried across town in Santa Croce, but his middle finger rests in Florence's History of Science Museum, making a final statement.

In the summer of 2007, I traveled to Erice, Sicily, to take part in the 39th Course of the International School of Crystallography on crystal engineering.

In October 2008, I attended the Bruker Users Meeting, at Delft, The Netherlands.

Coming up: the American Crystallographic Association meeting, July, 2009, Toronto, Canada, and the Twenty-Second Congress and General Assembly of the International Union of Crystallography, August, 2011, Madrid, Spain.

I am a huge Red Sox fan. I witnessed the Reverse Of The Curse firsthand. Now I can die in peace - even though I had to witness the Yankess clinch the American League East in 2005 at Fenway Park.
