Paul A. Ruud is a professor of in the Department of Economics at Vassar College. His research focuses on econometrics, the statistical analysis of economic activities. Discrete choice models and semi-parametric estimation particularly interest him.
Besides articles in theoretical econometric journals, Ruud has published applied research with co-authors in environmental economics, public finance, labor economics, and law and economics. His textbook, An Introduction to Classical Econometric Theory (Oxford Univ. Press, 2000), is used widely in leading graduate programs.
This semester (Fall, 2010) Ruud is teaching two sections of Economics 209, Probability and Statistics, and Economics 210, Econometrics. Students enrolled in those classes will find course materials on Vassar's Moodle site. His regular office hours are MW 1:00-3:00pm and 5:00-6:00pm, with exceptions noted weekly below.
