Africa On-line is a fun site trageted at a growing African web audience. It includes news updates, country-specific chatrooms and bulletin boards, music links, and much more.

African Policy Information Center Here's a nice resource on current issues in Africa that a student made me aware of. The site contains both original documents and useful links to other Africa-related sites.

Mail and Guardian South Africa's best newspaper.
The Daily Nation (Nairobi) Kenya's top newspaper.

U Penn Africa Page The University of Pennsylvania Africa site is considered the best website on African issues. The African Studies Association can be accessed through this site.

Stanford University Web Links Page Stanford University maintains an excellent index of Africa-related websites and web resources.

University of Texas Map Library A good collection of maps of Africa is available from the University of Texas Library's website.

Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International maintain helpful websites, with full text versions of their publications and press releases. They are a great source of current information on issues in many African countries.

The State Department also issues annual human rights reports, though they are seriously affected by political considerations.
