Domestic Home Page

A Tentative Hyperspace Exploration

Both Tony and Judy ask themselves why this
personal or domestic Home Page? It could of course be construed as an act of unalloyed ego-mania except that putting up a personal home page on the web is a bit like shouting when alone in a cave - - you might possibly be heard but the chances are you will just catch your own echo. So we suspect that we are doing this just to entertain ourselves, rather than to inform and amuse others, and, in any case it is primarily HTML practice for Tony who is, he confesses, (and Judy is in sad agreement!) somewhat hooked by this new medium. (Tony adds that he is new to web-writing, so this page is pretty minimalist: no ornamentation or aesthetic venture. This, then, is HTML practice for us and just possibly a site to drop in on for you. We are both now happily retired from Vassar College (both in 2002), but for Judy and Tony's academic credentials and lives, see, respectively, the

Education Department and the History Department home pages.

One should add that Judy is a major organizer, in her retirement, of the Ipswich Farmers' Market: click here.
