Sunbeam Alpine Series III



I bought this Rootes sports car in 1963 (about $2,200) to celebrate my first full-time teaching position and my transition from a lowly graduate student at Brown to a slightly less lowly instructor on a a one-year appointment at Vassar. Picked it up in London (it had 24 delivery faults), drove down to Dover to pick up Judy (we became engaged shortly after - - Judy had NO delivery faults!). What a summer! Kept it for two years. It was great in summer and provided a pleasant home for a family of field mice who managed to modify the electrical circuitry! Traded in it for the Volvo P1800
