Subaru Legacy GT Wagon, 2000



The Subaru (with snow tyres on all four wheels) has proved itself on our steep driveway and through many a snowy drive in New York and Massachusetts. Superb on the curvy Taconic in rain also. VERY reassuring! The GT model, I believe, accounts for less than 1 per cent of all Subaru sales, but on the back-to-back test drives I much preferred it to the ubiquitous Outback. (I also hated the Outback's "Tell them Paul Hogan sent you" he-man ads!) The GT with alloys, sports suspension, etc. is a well kept secret.
